so the first day of school of the new school year goes by...

countless things have happened to me during the past year. things i'll never forget, and hopefully things i'll never regret.

i honestly think i've done more this past year than all my life put together

it's not even possible to compare myself from just a year ago...so much has changed in me. my values, priorities, thoughts, personality, and even my hair. whole lot longer now...still getting used to.

then you wonder how much your friends have changed. friends you haven't seen for a hell of a long time. wonder if it'll be ever be same when u meet up. or Will u be able to be meet up? it's only the opposite side of the world.

then i finally wonder why i even still have this site, when i know i'll never be able to see or talk to or laugh with these people ever again

hahaha hell yeah~!!!. FINALLY done with freshman year. what with eight months of doing absolutely nothing cuz korean schools start in freaking March. Sucks to be a semester behind....in fact i'll be behind 2.5 years compared to everyone else. dang it. so it's final...joining army after my sophomore year. i really tried to sign up for iraq six months ago...but then korea started pulling out..so whatever. got my military physical checkup a few weeks ago. there were like two hundred other twenty year old guys there. it felt really weird...very first experience military related...wearing same uniforms, marching around medical stations in groups...etc

anyways...what really gets me going is the new classes. since i'm finally done with most of my basic freshmen courses, i get to take classes that really relate to my major. this ain't the final-proof of my schedule but the most probable classes i'll be taking next semester.

exciting eh? i'm leaving for my Mission aNd Talent missions trip to Thailiand next monday. still don't know where i'm gonna live in Seoul when I come back...crud...hate being homeless.

well the reason most of my pics are about is cuz...i don't have a camera..therefore i can't take pictures...so the only pics of any relevance to me are pics ppl take during concerts...not that i'm obsessed with the band. i admit it's a major part of my life here, but it ain't the only life i've got. it's just the only things i have pics of...ah well. next year i hope to post pics of a beautiful asian woman somwhere by my side. heehee

so these are just different places we've played concerts in..

we had a full live concert at hongdae live music DGBD club in Seoul...even sold tickets..the whole deal. keke. though we screwed up bad...it was still tight...daweed, joseph lee, and david choi came to watch

rock concert at our college festival. by the way, for you koreans...jeenu sean (지누션) and yang-dong-gun (양동근), and wind city came to perform. it was really tight

lotsa things happening....watched so many tv series i fully realized the desperate need for me to get off the computer. let's see...all of prison break up till the latest episode (season 2 ep 10), First three seasons of 24, and the first season of friends...all this in 3 weeks. this might be an easy task during summer break, or maybe even back in highschool. but during midterms eh? keke. i'm such an idiot

i purposely speak in english with most my 'third culture' friends now. seriously....i'm forgetting the language...and i intensely miss the western culture. not that the korean language or culture pisses me off or anything....i just need..a little break.

our band liquid...we got two major project coming up.

1. finally getting to write new music. maybe about three or four songs over the next few months. up till now the seniors have been developing us into becoming one band through playing other band's music.  as in now we are finally able to really play as 'one band', 'one music'.

2. trying to play 'acid rain', an insanely hard song written by dream theater (an album called liquid tension experiment, where the bassist from a different ban). seriously..i've never seen such a hard song before. we're gonna have to practice it for the next three months to play in a major concert for our school's new year Orientation in march. (korean schools start in march).  it's actually possible cuz our drummer finally bought a double pedal. heehee. the guitar and keyboard both play incredibly fast solos at the same time completely synchronized to each other....this is some insane stuff.  been praciticing the past week...and dang~!!!

even have a live vid of them right here to gawk at their amazing talents. i so recommend u to wach it

And THIS.....is why i love college festivals. hahaha. these are a few members of MIC (hip-hop dance group that our band goes to Missions Trip with). really cool ppl. our band and them get along really well.  this is the only vid with good quality...kinda disappointing cuz there's a bunch of way better ones.

and for you koreans...this is us playing IYAH from H.O.T....heeheehee..  just for fun for old times sake.

i ask my friend jokingly "hey~ i haven't seen u with your boyfriend these days (who happens to also be a friend of mine), u guys break up or something? i hear there's a buncha new hot guys in your 'extra-curricular activity group'.

"he got in a motorcycle accident and almost died. broke his ribs and hip bones. i don't want to talk about it"

Currently Listening
The Open Door
By Evanescence

i'm feeling it... the smug unique happiness inside of me that's been unfortnately hidden for quite some time now. not that i was sad all these years....it's just that after graduating from highschool...no...a better way to put it...after phil smith graduated..haha...i've been basically blind to all new music.

living in the middle of nowhere in some deep forest land in southern countryland Korea didn't help much with my upgrading of seriously-getting-sick-of-music

so i spent the last four days completely re-organizing my music..and downloading dozens and dozens of albums. i feel complete...in a different sense of way. obviously...this is not counting the whole spiritual, lack of working out, lack of romance life, etc.  for those who are offended cuz they only buy original cds. too bad. i don't feel sorry. this is korea. no one buys cds here. in fact..i don't ever remember seeing a cdplayer here in korea. it's all mp3s....usually mp3/cellphones. freaking koreans...either they're incredibly nerdy or incredibly technologically advanced. half my friends watch tv through their cellphones on the bus or while waiting in line for the cafeteria.  what the.... and i thought mine was cool just cuz it looked like an electric razor.

and that...is sexy...

IMG_1166

anyways...about mp3s....i decided it's finally time to show it off. not that i'm a better person than any of you or that i'm rich in any way...cuz i'm not, considering i barely fill my stomach with 2 dolloar meals everyday.  but i decided to show it off cuz i feel i have the right to. after waiting almost 20 years of my life...i finally got to own my own mp3 player. how wonderful. now i don't have to carry around my freaking laptop around me with me everywhere just to listen to music.

iaudio - x5s (L)

the iAudio X5L   - 30gig, pocket-size.

why i think this is so much better than an ipod

1. way way way better sound quality. the main reason my korean friends who bought ipods regret it is cuz after hearing the differences between the two...they realize that the ipod...even with its fancy wheel and nice look....it's sound quality is nowhere near these models

2. 36 hours of battery life for music. 6 hours if watching movies. u can't mess with that.

3. i don't see every other person i lay eyes on owning one and listening to it with white earphones.

the two things that ipod has a bit of advantage

1. the ipod wheelie...definitely better than the little joystick..though i heard it's cuz of the wheelie that the ipod has a lot shorter battery life. which then i would most definitely go for the joystick.

2. the ipod video's lcd screen is a couple centimeters larger

aight. that is all
